Curaçao Relief with emergency food hampers

Procedure of acceptation formalized

Curacao Relief Foundation aims to introduce a more formalized approach to the application & acceptation process. This new approach will be implemented gradually, starting in the late summer of 2007. Please feel free to download a PDF document with a graphical representation of the new procedure

Primary products with no need for refrigeration

The Curaçao Aid Foundation composes the food parcels and does all the purchasing. Food parcels are made up of primary products like rice, sugar, corn flour, canned meat and vegetables, toilet-paper, soap, tea, beans, canned soups etc. The parcels represent a retail value between fifty and sixty Antillean guilders (1 USD = 1,80 Antillean guilders, fixed rate). The actual price fluctuates as the Foundation frequently receives huge discounts or free shipments by sponsoring. The total number of food parcels provided by the Foundation saw a steady growth over the last few years. As from January 2005, a monthly hundred food parcels are distributed. For 2006, the Foundation's goal is to distribute at least 1250 food parcels.

If you would like to donate particularly for food parcels, please describe so on your cheque/transfer.

Distribution by partner organizations

Requiring help and/or being poor is not something people are proud of. The Foundation aims to help but not too embarrass people. Therefore the food parcels are delivered to the partner organizations and social workers from these organizations actually distribute the parcels during their visits.
